Straighten a paper clip and insert it into the hole. Locate the hole underneath the doorknob shaft. If any screws are exposed during this process remove them to release the lock and remove it from the door. You should see a tiny slot or hole.

Some styles of door knob will have another thin slot that requires a small screwdriver to free the cover from the door.
